Because we pronounce "Mi" for "3" in Japanese.
Then "3-3" can be read "Mi-Mi."
And "Mi-Mi" means "Ears" in Japanese.
Anyway the Girls Day is not a holiday.
But "5-5," May the 5th, the Boys Day is a holiday.
It is called the Children's Day.
