1.8 is one of the most difficult parts of the CDDL, I think.
1.8. "Licensable" means having the right to grant, to the maximum extent possible, whether at the time of the initial grant or subsequently acquired, any and all of the rights conveyed herein.
I could not find "Licensable" in my thickest English-Japanese dictionary.
If you google, "Licensable" hits about 138,000. It may be popular in the Software World.
If you are Licensable, you have the right to grant rights.
