Off-line meetings, to meet people face-to-face, eyes-to-eyes, voice-to-voice, is very important for mutual trust and communication.
That is why we have
OOoCons and
RegiCons.
Some OpenOffice.org Japanese Native Language Project team members visited Sun Microsystems Japan Yokohama Office located at 19th floor in the
Yokohama Landmark Tower.
We met Sun's Globalization team members, a translation and review staff and a QA staff, and had a talk and discussion. They demonstrated for us how to use Sun Translation Editor and Sun Glossary Tool on the Sun Globalization Portal.
To meet them I travelled 2 hours and half Shinkansen (Super Express) from
Ichinoseki to Tokyo and 1 hour train and walk from Tokyo to the Sun Yokohama Office.
How nice we had the off-line meeting! Believe me, now, we have good and trusted communication on-line @ja.openoffice.org.
Now you meet and collaborate :)
