- Simple Document Format (Is this it?)
SDF (Simple Document Format) is a freely available documentation system designed and developed by Ian Clatworthy, with help from many others. Based on a simple, readable markup language, SDF generates high quality output in multiple formats, all derived from a single document source. Supported output formats include HTML, PostScript, PDF, man pages, SGML, POD, LaTeX, GNU Info, MIF, RTF, Windows help and plain text.
Aynu is the language spoken by the indigenous people of Japan, and last month an effort was begun to localize OpenOffice.org to it. The effort is important, for both technical and social reasons. In a brief interview conducted via email in English late last April, the team describes their effort. (Louis Suárez-Potts)
I am very happy to get in touch with Yokoyama-san. He is an Ainu and Klingon expert. He is also interested in Ryukyu (Okinawan) language. What a coincidence!
